Macit Gurol, pH Sciences Founder & Chief Scientific Officer, and holder of 19 U.S. patents, numerous international patents and 12 patents pending, invented and patented the pH Sciences Alka-Plex formula that is used in pH Sciences products. This complex has the ability to deliver an alkaline level of 10.6 pH safely into the body.
The original reason for developing the formula arose when Mr. Gurol experienced a severe case of heartburn from drinking coffee. After concluding that the heartburn was caused by the high acid content of the coffee, Mr. Gurol invented a food additive to control acid in foods and beverages. It wasn't until other people tried the product and told him of additional health benefits they experienced while using his food additive that he realized the magnitude of what he had invented.
